Your safari, your way

Not quite found what you’re looking for in our safari packages? No problem. Our itineraries are designed as starting points, and we can tailor your safari around exactly what you want to experience.

No two travellers are the same, so we don’t believe your safari should be either.

Tell us what you want to experience, how much time you have and your preferred budget, and we’ll create your safari around you. Whether your priority is seeing the Big Five, following the Great Migration, spending more time in the wilderness or combining safari with Mount Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar, we’ll help you build the right itinerary.

Travel with purpose

At A Travelling Soul Adventure, we believe exploring Tanzania comes with a responsibility to give back.

We want the journeys we create to have a positive impact on the people, communities and natural environments that make Tanzania so special. From supporting local communities to contributing to conservation, we aim to ensure that tourism creates benefits beyond the traveller.

Protecting Wildlife & Nature

Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes are at the heart of every safari. We support responsible tourism and conservation efforts that help protect these environments for generations to come.

We believe wildlife should be experienced with respect, not surrounded by crowds. We aim to minimise unnecessary vehicle congestion around animals and follow responsible wildlife viewing practices.

When a sighting becomes crowded, we’ll give the animals space by moving on and, where possible, returning later when the area is quieter.

Supporting Communities

We believe tourism should benefit the communities that call Tanzania home.

We work closely with the Maasai community and want our tourism to create meaningful benefits beyond simply visiting. We aim to support local livelihood, work with community-led initiative and create opportunities for communities to benefit directly from tourism.

We are committed to supporting a local orphanage through funding and practical support. Travellers who would like to get involved can also choose to visit during their time in Tanzania or bring useful items to donate, helping to make a positive contribution during their journey.

Wherever possible, we work with local people and businesses, helping to keep the benefits of tourism within Tanzania and supporting the people who make our journey possible.

Fair & Respectful Treatment of our Teams

Our guides and safari team are an important part of every journey. We believe those who work hard to make your experience possible should be fairly paid, properly supported and treated with respect.

We are committed to fair pay, ethical working conditions and ensuring our team members are valued for the important role they play.

We provide clear tipping guidance so guests can choose to show their appreciation for the guide and safari team who make their journey possible. Tipping is always at their traveller’s discretion and is never a replacement for fair pay.

Frequently asked questions

Tanzania is a year-round safari destination, but the best time to visit depends on your interests. The dry season from June to October is generally considered one of the best times for wildlife viewing, as animals are easier to spot around water sources and the weather is typically dry. January to March is also an excellent time to visit, particularly for the Great Migration calving season in the southern Serengeti and Ndutu. The green season, particularly from November to March, brings lush landscapes, fewer visitors and excellent opportunities for photography and birdwatching.

We can help you choose the best time based on the destinations and experiences you want to include in your safari.

The ideal safari length depends on what you’d like to see and how many destinations you want to explore. Two days can work for a short safari, while three to four days gives you more time to explore different parks and enjoy a wider range of wildlife experiences without feeling rushed. For a more extensive safari, five days or more allows you to explore further, spend longer in the Serengeti and include additional destinations or experiences.

If you’re travelling from Zanzibar, our fly-in safaris also make it possible to enjoy an unforgettable safari without needing to spend extra time travelling by road.

Tanzania has a wide variety of safari destinations, each offering something different. Serengeti National Park is famous for its vast plains, big cats and the Great Migration, while Ngorongoro Crater offers an incredible concentration of wildlife within a spectacular volcanic landscape. Tarangire National Park is known for its elephants, ancient baobab trees and diverse birdlife, while Lake Manyara National Park offers varied landscapes and the chance to spot its famous tree-climbing lions.

For a combination of wildlife and scenery closer to Arusha, Arusha National Park offers Mount Meru, forests, lakes and a variety of wildlife. For a more cultural experience, Lake Eyasi can be combined with a visit to the Hadzabe community.

The right combination depends on your time, interests and the experiences you want from your safari. Our safari packages offer different options, or we can help you choose the destinations that suit your trip.

Absolutely! Your safari can be combined with a Kilimanjaro or Mount Meru trek, a relaxing beach holiday in Zanzibar, or both. Combining experiences allows you to enjoy Tanzania’s wildlife, mountains and coastline in one trip, with your itinerary planned around your available time, interests and budget.

Our safaris are private and are arranged exclusively for you and your travelling companions. Whether you’re travelling as a couple, family or group of friends, you will have your own safari vehicle and guide, giving you the flexibility to enjoy your safari at your own pace and around your interests.

Yes. All airport transfers are included in your safari itinerary. Whether you’re arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, travelling from Arusha, or connecting with other parts of your Tanzania trip, we’ll arrange your transfers and ensure you know where and when to meet your driver.

Of course! While we offer a range of safari packages, we can also create a bespoke itinerary tailored to your interest, available time and budget. Whether you’d like to spend longer exploring the Serengeti, visit additional destinations, experience a cultural tour or combine your safari with Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru or Zanzibar, we’ll help you plan a trip that suits you.

We recommend packing light, comfortable clothing suitable for warm days and cooler mornings and evenings. Neutral, earthy and lighter colours such as khaki, beige and olive are ideal for wildlife viewing, as they blend into the natural surroundings and are less likely to attract insects than darker colours.

A light jacket or fleece is useful for early morning game drives, while comfortable walking shoes, a sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and insect repellent are also recommended. Don’t forget your camera, binoculars and any personal medication you may need.

Before your trip, we’ll provide you with a detailed packing list to help you prepare for your safari and make sure you have everything you need. If you’re combining your safari with other parts of your Tanzania trip, such as mountain trekking or Zanzibar, we’ll be happy to advise you on what to bring for each part of your journey.

Yes. Safaris can be a fantastic experience for families, and children can enjoy seeing Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes up close. The suitability of a safari will depend on your children’s ages, the destinations you choose and the length of your trip. We can help you plan a family-friendly itinerary with suitable accommodation, activities and driving times, taking your family’s needs into consideration. If you’re travelling with younger children, we’ll recommend the most suitable destinations and itinerary for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
