Where it all started
Sometimes the best adventures begin when you least expect them…
Our story began on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, where we met for the very first time. Surrounded by the beauty of the mountain and brought together by our shared love of nature and adventure, we never could have imagined where that first meeting would lead us.
After returning home to the UK, we spoke every single day. Despite the distance between us, we quickly realised that the connection we had made was something special. Before long, we were spending more time together in Tanzania, exploring, sharing ideas, and dreaming about creating something of our own.
As we explored the country together, we realised we wanted to offer visitors more than just a tour. We wanted to share the Tanzania we know and love through genuine, personal experiences led by people who truly care.
That dream became the foundation of our tour company.
Today, we combine local knowledge and guiding experience with a passion for travel and creating meaningful experiences. Together, we are committed to helping every guest discover the beauty, wildlife, culture, and warm hospitality that make Tanzania so special.

Meet Gilbert
Founder and expedition leader
My name is Gilbert Deogratius and I am one of the founders and the expedition leader of A Travelling Soul Adventure. I am a passionate mountain guide who has dedicated my life to helping people achieve their dreams of exploring Tanzania. I am proud to be an ambassador for Tanzania, sharing the country’s natural beauty, culture, and wildlife with visitors from around the world.
I have more than 11 years of experience leading climbers on unforgettable adventures across Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. Over the years, I have had the privilege of helping people from all over the world to achieve one of the greatest milestones of their lives.. standing on the roof of Africa. Every climb is different, and I take pride in making each journey personal, safe and memorable.
My journey into becoming a mountain guide began with a deep love for the nature and mountains that surround my home. I realised that guiding was more than just a profession, it was an opportunity to inspire others, share the beauty of Tanzania, and witness the joy and emotion people experience when they accomplish something they once thought was impossible.
The thing I enjoy most about my job is seeing the happiness, confidence, and tears of joy on our clients faces when they reach the summit. Knowing that I have played a part in making someones dream come true is the greatest reward. I also enjoy meeting people from different cultures and creating lifelong friendships through adventure.
One of the most memorable moments in my life happened on Mount Kilimanjaro. While leading an expedition, I met my girlfriend, Claire, and as we shared our journey to the summit, we also shared our stories, dreams, and passion for adventure. That climb became more than an expedition, it became the beginning of our beautiful relationship. It reminded me that the mountain is a place where unforgettable memories and lifelong connections are made.
Meet Claire
Founder
I’m Claire Cameron, one of the founders of A Travelling Soul Adventure. Born in the United Kingdom, I have spent the past 9 years working in the veterinary profession. I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse 3 and a half years ago, a career that has allowed me to combine my love for animals with a deep commitment to their care, welfare, and wellbeing.
Working in veterinary has given me the opportunity to care for animals in some of their most vulnerable moments, and over the years it has strengthened my understanding of the importance of compassion, conservation, and protecting the animals we share this world with. My career has shaped so much of who I am and has played a huge part in my passion for wildlife and animal welfare.
I’m a passionate traveller and conservation enthusiast, with a particular love for Africa and its incredible wildlife. My connection with Africa began during my first trip in 2023. I quickly found myself captivated by the landscapes, wildlife, people, and the incredible experiences the country had to offer. Africa became a place I wanted to return and continue exploring, and my passion for the continent and its wildlife has continued to grow ever since.
Since then, my passion for Africa and its wildlife has continued to grow. I’m particularly passionate about rhino conservation and the importance of protecting Africa’s incredible wildlife and wild spaces for generations to come. I believe that travel can be a powerful force for good when it is approached responsibly, respectfully, and with a genuine commitment to supporting the places, wildlife, and communities we visit.
Today, I’m fortunate to combine my love for travel, conservation, and wildlife through A Travelling Soul Adventure. Together with Gilbert, I’m passionate about creating meaningful and unforgettable experiences that allow others to discover the beauty of Tanzania in a responsible and authentic way.
For me, travelling is about more than simply visiting a destination. It’s about creating genuine connections, experiencing the magic of the natural world, supporting ethical and responsible tourism, and leaving a positive impact wherever possible. Every journey is an opportunity to create lasting memories, discover something new, and perhaps, just as Africa did for me, find a place that stays in your heart long after you return home.
